My Favorite Nail paints

I Love Nail polishes. I have got tons of them in my home. My mom asks me every-time “Why do you have these many nails paints of the same color?”, I tell her “Mom they are different to me”. I don’t know if there can be a crazy nail polish addict like me out there. Whenever i go to Maybelline counter i pick up one shade. Today I am going share some nail paints i love and reach for often.

Maybelline Express Finish, Turquoise Lagoon

This is my most loved nail polish of all times. I instantly fell in love with Turquoise Lagoon when i saw it in a maybelline counter. I have never seen such a pretty shade.

Turquoise Lagoon

This dries off very soon compared to the colorshow nail paints but slightly on the pricier side.

Turquoise Lagoon

Maybelline Color Show Nail Color Nude Skin 015:

This is the only nude shade of nail polish i own. This will flatter all skin tones. A must buy for everyone who loves nude shades.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Glam Pink Champagne 607:

This is the perfect champagne shade. Such a pretty shade. It is from the glitter mania collection. Even though it has got glitters the shade is quite wearable.

pink

Cuccio Color Nail Polish, Fountains of Versailles:

This is another shimmery shade from my collection. The shade is so pretty but quite prominent on my skin so i wouldn’t wear it quite often. I use this shade for a touch of green shimmer in my nail art.

Cuccio

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Vernis Mysterious Icon Nail Polish 805:

This one is from the L’oreal color riche collection. The shade is a pretty brown with shimmers. The shimmers are well blended and they actually look like gloss rather than prominent glitter. This shade is very wearable. Sometimes brown nail paints can be little boring but this one is so gorgeous.

Max Factor Earth Spirits Eye Shadow – 131 Ultra Aqua Review

I am a big fan of Eye Shadows but i prefer pallets rather than mono eye shadows. I own very few single eye shadows and Max factor Earth Spirits is one of them. This was a gift from my friend, I cannot thank him enough for gifting such a gorgeous eye shadow.

Max Factor

What the Company Claims:

Earth Spirits’ micro colour pigments prevent colours from fading – in shades for all occasions.
So versatile, top make-up artists use it as an eye liner
Micro colour pigments keep colours bright
Available in a wide variety of colours for day or night

How to Use:

Can be applied dry for a subtle blend of colour, or with a wet applicator for a dramatic look on eyelids.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Polyethylene, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lecithin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tin Oxide [+/- CI 15850, CI 19140, CI 42090, CI 73360, CI 75470, CI 77007, CI 77288, CI 77289, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77510, CI 77742, CI 77891, CI 77163]

Price : 420Rs

Max Factor Ultra Aqua

My Views:

Color : Such a pretty Turquoise shade. This has a frosty finish. The shimmers are well blended.

Pigmentation: One swipe is enough to give you full coverage. Heavily pigmented.

Texture: Powdery. The eye shadow is well pressed in the pan. Sticks very well to the lid.

Staying power: Stays all day.

This is a very travel friendly eye shadow. I travel with this back and forth every weekend nothing happened yet. Trust me.. I broke many eye shadows and blush during travel.

The lid is of screw type and very sturdy. You can carry this in your handbag, it doesn’t spread everywhere in your bag.

I cannot use this as a lid color since this is slightly pale for my skin tone. This would look awesome on lighter skin tone. I use this on my lower lash line like an eye liner or  a slight pop of color on my inner corners. Both ways look great on me (at least i feel so 😉 ).

Max Factor Ultra Aqua

I would recommend some other color for darker skin tones from the same range. Here are the swatches.

Colorbar retractable lip liner in Wild berry review

Winter is here.. Finally.. It’s time wear dark and deep make up 🙂 . I have been looking for deep purple toned lipstick for my skin tone and i actually found. Well! it’s not a lipstick it is a lip liner.

Colorbar Retractable lip liner

What the Company Claims:

Give your lips a fuller, healthier look with our Waterproof Lip Liner. Waterproof and long-lasting, it keeps the lipstick in place without smudging it. Smooth and soft to apply in a single stroke, this retractable Waterproof Lip Liner enhances the lips while keeping them nourished and moisturised with Vitamin E and C.

How to Use:

Choose a lip liner that is the same shade as the lipstick . Outline the upper and the lower lip in a perfect one stroke application that lines and defines the natural shape of your lips.

Price: 399 INR

Quantity: 0.35gm

Buy Here.

My views:

Colorbar never failed to impress when it comes for packing. Like the usual colorbar products this lip liner comes with a silver outer carton. The pencil itself is in silver. The band in the end (both pencil and carton) corresponds to the color of the actual product.

Colorbar lip liner

Color : Color is deep berry to purple. It looks quite purple on me, it depends on lip pigmentation i guess. It is a mix of brown, purple and berry. It will look beautiful across variety of skin tones. It might look dark on fair skin tones and appropriate for medium to deeper skin tones.

Pigmentation: The lip liner is decently pigmented.

Texture: This lip liner is hard and not creamy at all. This is a disappointment, i like my lip liners to be creamy 😦 .

Staying power: Stays all day. Colorbar rocked in this category

Overall i like this lip liner for my everyday wear. This will suit all dark lipsticks like browns, purples, pinks and even reds. You can even blend out lighter color lipstick on top of this liner, it blends beautifully with any lipstick. It doesn’t bleed at all. For my daily wear i outline and fill in with this lip liner and top it off with Maybelline Choco latte and my god i love this combination.

SpaWake BB Cream 02 – Natural Glow Review

After reading the tittle, A lot of you might be thinking “Spawake??”. Let me tell you, It’s a Japanese brand and they have made their way to India with some of their products.

I was looking for a good BB cream for everyday then i settled with Garnier BB cream since it suited my skin tone but it made my face so oily. I had to blot my face every 2 hours otherwise i am gonna look like a disco ball. I also used Pond’s one which is very matte and stays for a long time but the shade is quite light for my skin tone. Also this one doesn’t blend easily and gave a grey tone to my face.

One day i was watching ShrutiAnand’s Review on Spawake BB cream and i immediately placed my order for this cream. Ever since i started using this i never went back to my Garnier BB cream. I have been using Spawake BB cream for a month now and this has become my favorite.

Spawake BB Cream

What the company Claims:

A sea mineral moisture formula with a delightfully lightweight texture. It spreads smoothly over skin for an instant burst of fresh moisture. A unique BB Cream with SPF 25/PA++ that corrects your skin tone ut feels like a skincare.
KEY FEATURES

Moisturizes for 8 hours*
Smooths skin texture
Evens skin tone

Shades Available:

01 – Perfect Glow
02 – Natural glow

Price:

129Rs for 50gm

Available Here.

My Views:

Japanese and Korean products are always claimed to be good but most of them are not available in India. Spawake products are from a Japanese brand Kose. They have got skin care range which has night creams, moisturizers, BB creams and stuff. I have a sensitive and acne prone skin. I am quite happy with the skin care products that i use currently so i went ahead and purchase a BB cream from this range. I have never found a suitable BB cream or CC cream or foundation or even moisturizer for my skin type and tone. So when i got this BB cream i never had high expectations. All the products i used would either oxidize and look dark orange or will make my face oily or never blends. But to my surprise this BB cream is almost suitable for my skin. It never oxidize on my skin in fact this makes my face looks brighter. blends very nicely and almost evens out my skin tone (i have hyper pigmentation on my forehead and around my mouth). It does make my face oily but not super oily though, I can use a compact and blot the oil sometimes and get away with it.

02 - Natural Glow

These are available in two shades. 01-Perfect glow is too light for me although it provides high coverage. So i got 02-Natural Glow which provides sheer to medium coverage.

Spawake BB Cream

Packaging is very travel friendly. It comes in a tube packing with a pointed nozzle. You can just directly dot it on your face and then blend it.

Spawake BB cream

Spawake BB cream

Spawake BB cream Ingredients list

Spawake BB cream Ingredients list

It has got SPF 25 and PA+++ which is good enough for Indian weather.

I use a wet sponge or my finger tips to blend this BB cream after dotting all over my face. I take only a tiny bit of it since if i over do it looks a bit white. I use a primer underneath and compact on top. Both my primer and compact has got mattifying properties but still my t-zone (especially nose) looks oily in about 5 hours after which the cream starts to fade slightly. This is when i blot the oil and re-apply compact and i am good to go for the rest of the day. If i skip this step, my face looks bare and dull end of the day. This is the performance of this cream in winters i don’t know if i might still like this in summer. I might need to find a good tinted moisturizer before the summer arrives. I might not finish this tube till summer since little goes a long way.

My skin is acne prone and i don’t mind showing my acne scars but if you want good coverage then you might need a concealer. I personally use concealer only on my under eyes to make the eye make up stand out. I leave my acne scars and blemishes bare.

My Favorite Inglot Eye Shadows

Hi Pretty ladies. Today’s post is about my favorite Inglot Eye shadows. I don’t own many Inglot eye shadow but still i think that they are pretty good even though they are on the pricier side. Let’s get right into the post.

Inglot Eye matte squares

Inglot Eye matte squares

A while ago i was shopping in Nykaa.com and came across these beautiful eye shadows. So i ended up buying two squares and one eye liner from Inglot. It is very difficult to get Matte eye shadow in the Indian market. Most of the times we end up buying a pallet just for one color in it.

If this sounds like you then Inglot freedom system pallet can save you! I actually mean it. By this range Inglot let’s you choose your own colors and make your own pallet. If you do not want your entire customized pallet then you can buy individual refills. These are priced at Rs.450 per refill.

I own two shades from Inglot matte eye shadows,

  • #329 – Matte dark brown eye shadow
  • #335 – Brick color eye shadow

I absolutely love them both and they are my everyday color.

Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte Square in 329:

This is very beautiful dark brown color. This can be your crease color or you can fill your eye brows, you can even use this as an eye liner. I use this both in my crease and fill in my eyebrows. I love this shade. Pigmentation is not that great but for a crease color this pigmentation works beautifully.

Inglot Matte shadow 329

Inglot Matte shadow 329

Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte Square in 335:

This is a gorgeous brick color shadow. Works beautifully as a transition color. You can sweep this color across your crease with a big fluffy brush. This looks so pretty you can even pack this on your entire lid.

If you are looking for a decent matte brick color for your crease then go and grab this one. Trust me this is such a pretty shade. Once again this has average pigmentation but that’s ok, we actually want this 😉 .

In my opinion these two are some beautiful crease color.

Essential/Affordable eye brushes

Hello My dear angels. Today i will be sharing my essential eye make up brushes. I am a regular girl and in my opinion these are the brushes that every beginner in eye make up must own. I personally cannot live without them.

Essential Eye Brushes

Essential Eye Brushes

Flat Shading Brush:

Flat Shading Brush

Flat Shading Brush

This is your first step in eye make up. This brush is basically used for packing color on your lid. If you are working with cream shadows you can opt for synthetic brushes else if you have powder shadows then brushes with animal hair is your friend. I own many shading brushes of which i like colorbar and ELF brushes. The colorbar brush is an average brush and it is quite small to work with. The bristles are not flexible too. The ELF brush is very easy to work with. It picks up the right amount of color and shades your lid beautifully.

If you want maximum color intensity and staying power then spritz some make up setting spray on your brush before swiping on the eye shadow pan. While packing the color press and drag by this you can get a beautiful color intensity. This gives beautiful finish on your lid. If you are a beginner in eye shadows then try ELF 12 piece brush set. They are so good and affordable.

Blending Brush:

Un-blended eye shadow is a big no in eye make up. The key to good make up is blending. Blending brush is a fluffy brush that is used to bend out the harsh edges.

Blending Brush

Blending Brush

When you are done packing the color on your lid, use a blending brush with a skin tone eye-shadow to soften up your look by swiping back and forth on your socket area. Blending a shadow which is two to three tones darker than your skin tone on your crease makes your eyes look deep set. If you are using a shimmery shadow on your lid, blend a darker shadow on your outer corner to get a more softer and defined look.

I use ELF blending brush for precise application on my crease. This is a very nice brush and it blends out shadows so beautifully. while bending make sure to use soft hands and intensify colors gradually.

I love using Vega Blending brush for softening the whole eye make up. The bristles are so soft and fluffy. This is my go to brush for blending eye shadows.

Angled Eye Liner Brush:

This brush makes your life a lot easier for when it comes for winged eye liner. But i personally did not find an angled brush which is thin enough to make a wing. The only angled brush that i own is from colorbar. I use this brush for filling my eyebrows and sometimes to smudge out the top of my eye liner.

Angled Brush

Angled Brush

I love this brush when it comes for filling in my eyebrows with a dark brown eye shadow.

Smudger Brush:

Eye Smudger

Eye Smudger

This brush is used for smudging your eye liner to get a more softer look. Line your lash line with a kohl of your choice and gently use a smudging brush for blending the harsh line into your eye shadow to get a more natural look.

Smudger brush can be of bristles or sponge tip, both works wonderfully. You can use a pencil brush also to achieve this look. I have been loving Colorbar Smokin Eyes Smudger Brush and ELF smudging brush for blending my eye liner. Use a dark brown or black eye shadow to get a smokey look.

Lash Comb:

This brush is basically a tiny comb which you can use to comb your brows before filling them in. This gives the idea of your sparse areas so that you can fill your brows seamlessly. You can also use an old spoolie brush (mascara wand) to do this job. A lash comb is also used to comb your lashes to avoid clumping of mascara.

The only lash comb i have is from ELF. I don’t use this brush much but it is a must in your make up brush collection.

Hope you guys like this post.

Maybelline Velvet Matte in MAT1 Review

Finally.. Finally.. Finally got my hands on velvet matte from maybelline. This is in the shade MAT 1 it’s a pretty warm toned pink which will suit all skin tones. I am so excited to share my experience with you guys. Let’s get straight into the review.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Price: 475Rs

My Views on Maybelline Velvet Matte:

After knowing that this has been launched in India i went to the maybelline counter to check this one out. She Showed me like 8 shades and I am not sure how many shades are there totally. One good thing is that all these shades will suit almost all Indian skin tones. There was one shade which was too light, i think it’s MAT12. I was pretty sure it will wash me out so i did not even think to try the shade. All the other shades were pretty good but i went home with MAT1.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

This is a pretty warm pink as i mentioned earlier. This can be my everyday shade and i quite like how it looks on me.

Maybelline Velvet MatteMaybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

The Packaging is very nice and similar to the lip polishes launched earlier. Velvet Mattes are quite opaque unlike the lip polishes. They give a nice velvety finish to the lips, not too glossy, not so matte. You can blot this one to get a complete matte lips. Either way they look great.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

The applicator picks up a good amount of product. It has a tear drop shape which is easy to apply on the corners. The wand is very small in length and some might find it uncomfortable.

Packaging is quite chic and handy. The cap shuts tightly and no spillage whatsoever. Travel friendly, takes very small space in you vanity.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Staying power could have been better. This lasted on my lips for 3 hours and then started to fade. It is not transfer proof at all which ruins the purpose of being liquid lipstick.

This is hydrating and does not dry out your lips. Dry lips might love this (like mine 😉 ).

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Likes:

  • Pretty shades. I was disappointed with their creamy mattes since they suit only fair skin tone. They have come up with shades that can flatter all skin tones with the Velvet Matte range.
  • Packaging. Scores a 10/10 from me.
  • Applicator. Very easy to apply.
  • Opaque formula. My upper lips are pigmented and my lower lips are pale. This one covers them nicely. Thumbs up.
  • Hydrating. Trust me, they are.
  • Affordable

Dislikes:

  • Transfers.
  • Poor staying power.
