My Favorite Nail paints

I Love Nail polishes. I have got tons of them in my home. My mom asks me every-time “Why do you have these many nails paints of the same color?”, I tell her “Mom they are different to me”. I don’t know if there can be a crazy nail polish addict like me out there. Whenever i go to Maybelline counter i pick up one shade. Today I am going share some nail paints i love and reach for often.

Maybelline Express Finish, Turquoise Lagoon

This is my most loved nail polish of all times. I instantly fell in love with Turquoise Lagoon when i saw it in a maybelline counter. I have never seen such a pretty shade.

Turquoise Lagoon

This dries off very soon compared to the colorshow nail paints but slightly on the pricier side.

Turquoise Lagoon

Maybelline Color Show Nail Color Nude Skin 015:

This is the only nude shade of nail polish i own. This will flatter all skin tones. A must buy for everyone who loves nude shades.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Glam Pink Champagne 607:

This is the perfect champagne shade. Such a pretty shade. It is from the glitter mania collection. Even though it has got glitters the shade is quite wearable.

pink

Cuccio Color Nail Polish, Fountains of Versailles:

This is another shimmery shade from my collection. The shade is so pretty but quite prominent on my skin so i wouldn’t wear it quite often. I use this shade for a touch of green shimmer in my nail art.

Cuccio

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Vernis Mysterious Icon Nail Polish 805:

This one is from the L’oreal color riche collection. The shade is a pretty brown with shimmers. The shimmers are well blended and they actually look like gloss rather than prominent glitter. This shade is very wearable. Sometimes brown nail paints can be little boring but this one is so gorgeous.

My Favorite Inglot Eye Shadows

Hi Pretty ladies. Today’s post is about my favorite Inglot Eye shadows. I don’t own many Inglot eye shadow but still i think that they are pretty good even though they are on the pricier side. Let’s get right into the post.

Inglot Eye matte squares

Inglot Eye matte squares

A while ago i was shopping in Nykaa.com and came across these beautiful eye shadows. So i ended up buying two squares and one eye liner from Inglot. It is very difficult to get Matte eye shadow in the Indian market. Most of the times we end up buying a pallet just for one color in it.

If this sounds like you then Inglot freedom system pallet can save you! I actually mean it. By this range Inglot let’s you choose your own colors and make your own pallet. If you do not want your entire customized pallet then you can buy individual refills. These are priced at Rs.450 per refill.

I own two shades from Inglot matte eye shadows,

  • #329 – Matte dark brown eye shadow
  • #335 – Brick color eye shadow

I absolutely love them both and they are my everyday color.

Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte Square in 329:

This is very beautiful dark brown color. This can be your crease color or you can fill your eye brows, you can even use this as an eye liner. I use this both in my crease and fill in my eyebrows. I love this shade. Pigmentation is not that great but for a crease color this pigmentation works beautifully.

Inglot Matte shadow 329

Inglot Matte shadow 329

Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte Square in 335:

This is a gorgeous brick color shadow. Works beautifully as a transition color. You can sweep this color across your crease with a big fluffy brush. This looks so pretty you can even pack this on your entire lid.

If you are looking for a decent matte brick color for your crease then go and grab this one. Trust me this is such a pretty shade. Once again this has average pigmentation but that’s ok, we actually want this 😉 .

In my opinion these two are some beautiful crease color.

Essential/Affordable eye brushes

Hello My dear angels. Today i will be sharing my essential eye make up brushes. I am a regular girl and in my opinion these are the brushes that every beginner in eye make up must own. I personally cannot live without them.

Essential Eye Brushes

Essential Eye Brushes

Flat Shading Brush:

Flat Shading Brush

Flat Shading Brush

This is your first step in eye make up. This brush is basically used for packing color on your lid. If you are working with cream shadows you can opt for synthetic brushes else if you have powder shadows then brushes with animal hair is your friend. I own many shading brushes of which i like colorbar and ELF brushes. The colorbar brush is an average brush and it is quite small to work with. The bristles are not flexible too. The ELF brush is very easy to work with. It picks up the right amount of color and shades your lid beautifully.

If you want maximum color intensity and staying power then spritz some make up setting spray on your brush before swiping on the eye shadow pan. While packing the color press and drag by this you can get a beautiful color intensity. This gives beautiful finish on your lid. If you are a beginner in eye shadows then try ELF 12 piece brush set. They are so good and affordable.

Blending Brush:

Un-blended eye shadow is a big no in eye make up. The key to good make up is blending. Blending brush is a fluffy brush that is used to bend out the harsh edges.

Blending Brush

Blending Brush

When you are done packing the color on your lid, use a blending brush with a skin tone eye-shadow to soften up your look by swiping back and forth on your socket area. Blending a shadow which is two to three tones darker than your skin tone on your crease makes your eyes look deep set. If you are using a shimmery shadow on your lid, blend a darker shadow on your outer corner to get a more softer and defined look.

I use ELF blending brush for precise application on my crease. This is a very nice brush and it blends out shadows so beautifully. while bending make sure to use soft hands and intensify colors gradually.

I love using Vega Blending brush for softening the whole eye make up. The bristles are so soft and fluffy. This is my go to brush for blending eye shadows.

Angled Eye Liner Brush:

This brush makes your life a lot easier for when it comes for winged eye liner. But i personally did not find an angled brush which is thin enough to make a wing. The only angled brush that i own is from colorbar. I use this brush for filling my eyebrows and sometimes to smudge out the top of my eye liner.

Angled Brush

Angled Brush

I love this brush when it comes for filling in my eyebrows with a dark brown eye shadow.

Smudger Brush:

Eye Smudger

Eye Smudger

This brush is used for smudging your eye liner to get a more softer look. Line your lash line with a kohl of your choice and gently use a smudging brush for blending the harsh line into your eye shadow to get a more natural look.

Smudger brush can be of bristles or sponge tip, both works wonderfully. You can use a pencil brush also to achieve this look. I have been loving Colorbar Smokin Eyes Smudger Brush and ELF smudging brush for blending my eye liner. Use a dark brown or black eye shadow to get a smokey look.

Lash Comb:

This brush is basically a tiny comb which you can use to comb your brows before filling them in. This gives the idea of your sparse areas so that you can fill your brows seamlessly. You can also use an old spoolie brush (mascara wand) to do this job. A lash comb is also used to comb your lashes to avoid clumping of mascara.

The only lash comb i have is from ELF. I don’t use this brush much but it is a must in your make up brush collection.

Hope you guys like this post.

Maybelline Velvet Matte in MAT1 Review

Finally.. Finally.. Finally got my hands on velvet matte from maybelline. This is in the shade MAT 1 it’s a pretty warm toned pink which will suit all skin tones. I am so excited to share my experience with you guys. Let’s get straight into the review.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Price: 475Rs

My Views on Maybelline Velvet Matte:

After knowing that this has been launched in India i went to the maybelline counter to check this one out. She Showed me like 8 shades and I am not sure how many shades are there totally. One good thing is that all these shades will suit almost all Indian skin tones. There was one shade which was too light, i think it’s MAT12. I was pretty sure it will wash me out so i did not even think to try the shade. All the other shades were pretty good but i went home with MAT1.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

This is a pretty warm pink as i mentioned earlier. This can be my everyday shade and i quite like how it looks on me.

Maybelline Velvet MatteMaybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

The Packaging is very nice and similar to the lip polishes launched earlier. Velvet Mattes are quite opaque unlike the lip polishes. They give a nice velvety finish to the lips, not too glossy, not so matte. You can blot this one to get a complete matte lips. Either way they look great.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

The applicator picks up a good amount of product. It has a tear drop shape which is easy to apply on the corners. The wand is very small in length and some might find it uncomfortable.

Packaging is quite chic and handy. The cap shuts tightly and no spillage whatsoever. Travel friendly, takes very small space in you vanity.

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Maybelline Velvet Matte

Staying power could have been better. This lasted on my lips for 3 hours and then started to fade. It is not transfer proof at all which ruins the purpose of being liquid lipstick.

This is hydrating and does not dry out your lips. Dry lips might love this (like mine 😉 ).

Likes:

  • Pretty shades. I was disappointed with their creamy mattes since they suit only fair skin tone. They have come up with shades that can flatter all skin tones with the Velvet Matte range.
  • Packaging. Scores a 10/10 from me.
  • Applicator. Very easy to apply.
  • Opaque formula. My upper lips are pigmented and my lower lips are pale. This one covers them nicely. Thumbs up.
  • Hydrating. Trust me, they are.
  • Affordable

Dislikes:

  • Transfers.
  • Poor staying power.

Three Newly Launched Kajals in Indian Market

Hey Beauties. Today i am going to review 3 Kajals launched newly in India.

Before we start let me tell you something, I have never found a perfect Kajal. I wear Contacts on a daily basis so my eyes are watery. Wax based Kajals don’t stick to my waterline even if they do they won’t last longer. The formula should be creamier to to stick my waterline at the same time it should dry fast else the kajal is gonna stick my contacts and make a big mess.

With that big list of requirements let’s  get into the review. I am going to review Faces Magneteyes Kajal, Lotus Color Kick Kajal and Plum all day wear Kajal together in this post.

Plum,Faces,Lotus

Plum,Faces,Lotus

Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal:

Plum is my favorite skin care brand. I have used their moisturizer and cleanser and i like them. They claim to be paraben and SLS free. This brand has already launched a kajal before.

Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal

Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal

What the Company Claims:

For the first time in India, an ophthalmologically approved kajal pencil with a gel-liner like performance. 100% smudge-proof, water-proof single-swipe brilliant black kohl-cum-liner that’s also gentle on your eyes.

Welcome to NaturStudio. Where it’s all about the glam, minus the harm. Get the look of a gel liner in a simple pencil format. Easy to use, studio finish & filled with goodness.

 Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal

Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal

My take on Plum NaturStudio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal:

This Kajal is jet black. Seriously the blackest black kajal i have ever used (trust me i have used many 😉 ). The company claims that this is a gel based formula and i have never seen a gel based pencil in India. On the lash line it glides on very smoothly and stayed on for 8 hours with smudging or fading. On the waterline it takes 2 to 3 swipes for the color to show up. It looks so beautiful on the waterline and stays for around 4 to 5 hours after which it slowly starts to fade. Overall i like this kajal and recommend to people like me.

My Rating : 4.5/5

Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL

This is once again my favorite brand. Lotus Sunscreen is one of my HG products. Only problem i find with this brand is that they have parabens in all the products but don’t worry this kajal claims to be harsh chemicals free 🙂 .

Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL

Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL

What the company claims:

Color Kick Kajal an extreme, deep black pigmented smudge-proof formula enriched with botanical extract of Almond Oil. The one glide application makes it easy to use without any flakiness and stays perfect for 8 hrs without any smudge.
Create new looks playing around with this long stay, water-proof kajal without worrying for the touch-ups.

Price : 199Rs

Ingredients:

It is actually missing. I couldn’t find on the website but i can say it contains almond oil. With this list we can’t really say whether this Kajal can harm our eyes or not.

My Take on Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL:

Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL

Lotus Herbals COLORKICK™ KAJAL

I googled this product and i saw many people raving about it so i went ahead and bought this Kajal in a Lotus Herbals counter in my place. I have used it couple of times and honestly girls i did not like it. It doesn’t stick to my waterline. Even on my lash line i had to swipe multiple times to get an opaque line 😦 . May be i bought a defective piece or i don’t know. Why are people raving so much about this one.

My Rating : 2/5
Faces Magneteyes Kajal:

Faces cosmetics are really good. They last longer.

 Faces Magneteyes Kajal

Faces Magneteyes Kajal

What Company Claims:

I threw away the outer carton. I don’t have the claims anywhere in the website in fact i couldn’t find the Kajal in the website. I think this is exclusively launched for India.

Price : 175Rs (Cheapest among the three 😉 )

Buy Here.

Couldn’t find.

 Faces Magneteyes Kajal

My Take on the Faces Magneteyes Kajal:

I have been using this for quite sometime and you know what “I like this one”. Good pigmentation. Formula is creamier but not creamy enough for me. Stays on up-to 5 hours without fading. This is my everyday Kajal i sometimes smudge it on my upper lash line but i have to be very quick.  Very affordable. Instead of investing your money on high end Kohl you can try this one for a change.

Maybelline express finish Nail Polish – Turquoise Lagoon Review

Hello Everyone. Today i am going to be reviewing a Nail polish from maybelline. It is from their express finish collection. I know this range is in the market for a very long time, But trust me this shade is such a pretty shade which suit almost all skin tones especially for summer.

IMG_0268

This shade is called Turquoise Lagoon. This such a gorgeous shade. It is the perfect balance between blue and green.

Price : 220 INR

Buy Here.

The best part about this nail polish is that it dries very fast like less than 40 seconds, that is what maybelline claims about this polish that it dries in 40 seconds.

IMG_0273

The brush fans very nicely while applying and spreads evenly. Pigmentation of this range is not so good, you might require 2 to 3 coats for an opaque finish.

They have got amazing shades range and the quantity is 10 ml whereas their colorshow range gives you only 6 ml.

IMG_0263

Overall this is a good buy 🙂

 Likes:

  • Amazing color
  • Good brush
  • Good Quantity
  • Quick drying, That is the quality that i want from a nail polish
  • Packing
  • Lasts long

Dislikes:

  • Price, 220 Rs for 10 ml. Even Sally Hanson nail polishes are cheaper than this
  • Pigmentation, very light

That is guys, Hope this useful.

My Take on Maybelline Colorshow lipsticks:

First of all i want my lipsticks stay longer and they should suit my skin tone ( I am an NC 42 in mac for reference). Good thing about these lipsticks is that they have variety of color range so there is atleast one color that will suit the most for every skin tone. I bought the shades 309 -Caramel Custard and 310 – Nutty Cookie. They both are perfect browny nudes for my Skin tone.

IMG_0215

309 – Caramel Custard, 310 – Nutty Cookie

They come with a plastic wrapper which has ingredients list and once you take out the wrapper, the list is gone (plus they are too small for naked human eye, if you know what i mean).

I like the colors but i find them drying, as i have very dry lips i can’t say they are moisturising. I applied one on my lips and went to office and my lips started flaking in 2 hours. Next day i tried with lip balm but still the same. The other day i tried with a lip brush and i felt much better, i feel like applying with lip brush makes it creamy and stay longer with enough moisture.

Caramel Custard has become my everyday lip color. I apply baby lips underneath and top it off with Rimmel apocalips in the shade Galaxy. I personally love this combo a lot..

Here are the Swatches..

IMG_0216

Maybelline Colorshow lipsticks

IMG_0221

Swatches : top – Nutty Cookie. Bottom – Caramel Custard

Likes :

  • Shade range, They are amazing.
  • Bullet is very good for directly applying from the tube.
  • Packaging.. Simply Cute 😉
  • Price – Very affordable

Dislikes :

  • Very drying. Not for Dry lips
  • Staying power. Stays maximum of 3 hours without any meal or liquid intake (With eating- hmmm you can imagine)
  • Transfers a lot.
  • Sticky

Overall this is worth buy if you are a person who has quite supple lips and if you are ready to touch very often.

I am going to check out some bright shades from this range. Looking forward for suggestions 🙂

Rating: 4/5

Hope you like this review. By the way those are minions on my nails 😉
